The aim of this paper is study the trends of spatial population concentration indices regarding to the goals of regional and urban balance policies during the first to fifth development plans of Iran (1989-2015). The research method is trend study, and the data source is the Iran’s censuses. The results show that despite specifying the goals of regional and urban balance in all programs, the population at all spatial levels has always tended towards the centers. Two types of population centralization are recognized, the first is the national level centralization which is a persistent, general and inclusive pattern, and is the center of gravity of population settlement at the national level, the second is regional population centralization, which is a weaker, situational and non-inclusive pattern, which acted as the regional centers. During the period of the 1st and 5th development plans, the urban primacy has decreased, but in contrast the cities of the second class (100,000-250,000), have the highest population growth rate and all the cities of the middle classes (10,000-99,999) have a negative population growth. In general, the results show that the regional and urban imbalance has been slightly adjusted Therefore, we suggest that the spatial distribution of the regional and urban population is changing from the extreme periphery - center structure to the periphery - semi-periphery structure.

The policy of developing new cities was adopted besides the ever-increasing rise in population, its excessive concentration in metropolises, the need for services, and the difficult management of resources. The lack of concern for the immigrants in terms of culture and identity caused issues in social sustainability, failure to achieve population forecasting and the subsequent failure to consider economic planning disturbed their self-reliance in new city of pardis. This research is aimed to investigate the identity dispersion in this city and to discover approaches to the formation of an independent identity. The qualitative strategy pursued in this applied descriptive-analytical study involves content analysis. The target community includes two groups: the citizens and the urban management staff. Theoretical saturation was identified after interviews with 38 of them. The data were collected using targeted, semi-structured interviews, observations, and urban documents and MAX QDA was used to analyze them. After three steps of encoding and the analysis of 284 codes, ten minor and two major categories were obtained, the latter including immigration and the distinct image of the city, which were differentiated The findings demonstrated that the enhancement of the city’s independent identity was found from the urban management staff’s perspective to be affected by the dual interaction between the northern and southern parts, followed by the development of a technopark. The citizens, however, regarded the Employment of residents in the technopark as most effective, followed by the utilization of the features shared by the ethnic groups in the definition of attraction activities.

Today, marginalization has become one of the most important social issues and obstacles to social development. This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the causal and contextual conditions of the suspension of social development among the marginal residents of Pakdasht and Qiyam-Dasht. The population under study is the residents of the marginal areas of Pakdasht and Qiyam-Dasht, who were selected through purposive and theoretical sampling. For this reason, an in-depth individual interview was conducted with 38 residents of these areas. The data analysis was done using the grunded theory method and based on the Strausian approach. The findings of this research show that the causal conditions of the suspension of social development are: mutual irreversibility, temporary and instrumental actions, weak self-concept, generational succession of poverty and limited good. The grounds for the suspension of social development have also shown themselves in the form of categories such as divergent roles, gap in social awareness, weakness of resources and reference groups, disorganization of family boundaries and institutional distrust. The results of this study show that ethnic conflicts and identity conflicts have led to the mosaic structure of these regions. Ethnic conflicts and backward-looking ideas have led to the superiority of ethnic pursuits and, as a result, the lack of convergence. it has made it difficult for these ethnic groups to adapt to the modern world (here, Tehran). Therefore, these people in these areas tend to temporary and instrumental actions and cannot create sustainable social interactions, as a result, social development is not realized.

Walking is a primary activity, and pedestrians are vital blood of urban spaces and a walkable city encourages people to walk in passages by planning environmental structure and land uses appropriately. This review aims to evaluate the walkability of two neighborhoods (Takhti and Marzdaran in Tehran city) and validate results by comparing models. Data analysis and comparative evaluation of two locations have been done by three walkability methods: Walkscore, SMARTRAQ, and Space syntax method and analytical analysis have been done by SPSS LISREL applications. The research method is analytical and descriptive with surveying and practical type. Statistical society is 250 people who are living in two neighborhoods. In other methods was found Takhti neighborhood (compact context) has 93.07 percent walkscore, 1.76 integration level and +3 smartraq z-score have more walkability in comparison to the Marzdaran neighborhood (modernized growth) that has 77.86 percent walkscore, 1.69 integration level, and -3 smartraq z-score. Based on these results and comparing with analytical methods, As a result of walkability models affirm the Takhti as a walkable neighborhood, analysis Through functional, physical, social and environmental criteria by analytical models also show Takhti neighborhood with 3.52 statistic mean is more walkable than Marzdaran with 2.4 statistics mean.

With the spread of the wave of urbanization in the world and the increase of population, children in modern urban developments are ignored and the need to pay attention to them in cities is felt more than ever. Therefore, research on assessing the status of urban neighborhoods in terms of child-friendly city components seems necessary. The present study has evaluated the dimensions and components of a child-friendly city using a survey method. Then, using cluster-spatial sampling method, 10 neighborhoods from five areas of Ardabil (2 neighborhoods from each region) were selected as sample neighborhoods and 400 researcher-made questionnaires were distributed according to the population of each neighborhood. To analyze the data, one-sample T-statistics in SPSS software and neighborhood prioritization in terms of research criteria, multi-criteria decision-making models were used. Findings showed that the dimensions and components of child-friendly cities have different nature in different neighborhoods of Ardabil and environmental-physical and organizational-managerial dimensions in terms of dimensional comparison are the most problematic dimensions in the studied areas. Also, despite the spatial differences of neighborhoods, neighborhood No. 1 of District 4 and neighborhood No. 3 of District 2 of Ardabil Municipality are more problematic than other neighborhoods under study. Therefore, it seems necessary to readjust the approved laws related to neighborhood-based management, participation of local actors, transparency of development projects, implementation of empowerment programs and plans, and adding neighborhood scale and neighborhood units in neighborhood planning.
