TThis article tried to redefine the human scale to measure its hidden dimensions in the success of implemented urban projects along with other criteria of success. The purpose of this article was to better promote urban plans in the historical contexts of the country with the correct definition and focus on the dominant and common criteria of success. Therefore, restoration projects (improvement and renovation) implemented in the 1380s SH in the 12th district of Tehran have been considered for this work as a case study. The research method here was qualitative and quantitative, using coding concepts to redefine, Delphi technique to select designs, then ranking them through analytic hierarchy process. The qualitative interpretation of the concept of human scale in urban design literature, the degree of compliance in selected projects with other criteria and the degree of the overall success of each project is compared. That is, it can be mentioned as a common and complete limit in successful designs and spaces of the city. The share or percentage provided by this criterion, by the definition of this research, in each project, represents an acceptable ratio of the total success criteria of a project. Also, with the same relative conditions, among the internal concepts of the human scale, the role of popular participation, i.e. the non-physical dimension, is the highest in the success of space and body

How to navigate the premises of residential complexes is an important issue for the architectural design of such spaces. The path that creates the axis of vision and readability for human beings can be the optimal path. The purpose of this study is to investigate the formal structure of routing in the space of residential complexes based on the theory of space syntax. In this research, a structural description of human environmental behavior based on the theoretical foundations of space syntax is presented. Also, using Depthmap X 0.50 software and by extracting graph-based methods, people's perception and interpretation of routing in the residential complex area is explained. Findings show that three types of network-based circulation, curved and linear in the design of residential complexes that human behavior according to individual and collective goals and interests, can choose one of these routes to cross. Also, according to the results, routing in a linear rotation path is the easiest way to perceive space. Network routing is also the most difficult route for people to navigate due to its lower readability. Curved routing also has good readability due to its shorter spatial depth. In general, the findings in this study showed that routing has a significant relationship with the depth of space and the visual axis of people.

In order to enhance residents' satisfaction with the living environment, this study seeks to discover the factors affecting environmental and social memories and analyze its micro-branches. According to library studies, the collective memories of the city were extracted as familiarity of residents with the neighborhood and neighborhood relations and criteria related to the formation of physical and spatial memories, as characteristics of the neighborhood center, signs and introversion. Theoretical model, 6 neighborhoods of Afifabad, Farhangshahr, Abyari, Zerehi, Modarres and Miyanroudshiraz were selected in three levels from the economic point of view. The type of research is developmental in terms of correlation method. Data collection was done in the field and survey method. Using SPSS analytical software and by analyzing Samples Test, ANOVA, Tukey and Pearson correlation coefficient, different dimensions of environmental memories and Social ones were evaluated as an independent variable and residents' satisfaction was assessed as a dependent variable. The results indicate that social memories are more effective than environmental memories on the level of satisfaction of Shiraz residents. If the factor that reminds the neighborhood of environmental memories and the factor of familiarity of people with the neighborhood of social memories are the most effective factor in increasing the residents' sense of satisfaction with their place of residence.

One of the most important issues in the cities is their overgrowth into metropolises. This increasing growth can often be associated with many environmental, socio-cultural, and economic-political effects and consequences. One of the most effective approaches to deal with this issue would be "urban growth management". Over the past few decades, Urban Growth Management (UGM) as a practical strategy has tried through some approaches, policies, and plans to guide the metropolitan growth process in a more sustainable and smart direction. One of the most important and practical models in quantitative estimation of urban growth conditions has been the "Smart Growth Index" (SGI) which has used a variety of techniques, including the "4D" technique. With reference to such a theoretical and technical background, this article has analyzed the metropolis of Tehran based on some smart growth indexes and in the framework of the urban growth management approach. The results obtained in this article have shown that a positive intervention in the condition of density, diversity, design, and accessibility in land use-transportation interactions can have a significant effect on the vehicle miles traveled (VMT), and thus reduce the mobilities and controlling urban growth in Tehran mega-polis region.

Today, urban development programs because of the divergence of social, political and economic influences existing in the territorial dominions, have little control over the components and forces that shape urban spaces; So that the processes of power in the Metropolitan Area have led to the gradual elimination of unorganized groups and interests in favor of the dominant groups. In the Mashhad Metropolitan Area, despite the existence of regional, district and urban programs with the aim of a balanced organization of space and achievement of spatial justice, there are regional and urban imbalances, and the capital and power are highly centralized. In consequence, the processes resulting from unlimited development have contributed to environmental degradation, migration of villagers to the city, increased urban squatter settlement and consequent damages. Undisputed political power by the means of powerful political, economic and social tools, has been the main element in determining the space organization and has regulated and directed the actions of public and private sectors. The present study is developmental in nature and is based on a mixed methodology, using a questionnaire of experts, and applying CFA factor analysis model in identifying the power and influence of contributing factors in spatial structuring and their relationships, goals and intentions. The findings of the current study showed that the elements of power of sovereignty, government, public sector and citizens have had the most influence on shaping the spatial organization of Mashhad Metropolitan Area, respectively.
